Q. Do I need a special licence to hire the houseboat? A. No special licence is required. The Skipper must be over 21 years of age.
Q. How many people can the houseboats sleep? A. The houseboats have a survey to sleep 10 people. We recommend 6 people is comfortable. There is one double bedroom. 2 doubles beds in the forecastle, 2 single bunks and your table can colapse down for a cosy double or single.
Q. What do we need to bring? A. Please bring all provisions for the time you are on holiday. There are no shops in the Great Sandy Strait. Service runs are available but a fee does apply. Sometimes we can put some shopping on another vessel if you are going to be in the same place that day. Also bring your clothing, medicines,hat, sunblock, repellant. You will need to bring enough towels for showering and swimming. The beds have a fitted sheet, pillow with slip and doona. You may like to bring a flat sheet and your own pillow. It is a good idea to bring a torch and another esky to have your drinks in on the deck.
Q. Can I tow my own tinny? A. Yes you may tow your own tinny up to 4.5m or 2 small tenders. Please bring along a 5/6m tow rope with a D shackle. If you have some large fenders that would be great or you can hire a set for $25. This stops the 2 boats rubbing each other when they are alongside.
Q. What is the difference from the Executive 45 and the Luxury 45? Scarborugh Executive 45 has Fly bridge steering and a set of stairs to the sundeck. It has the same layout and equipment as the Luxury 45
Q. How do we get to your Departure Facility? A. A good way to find us is to look at Google Maps Link. From Brisbane take the Bruce Hwy to Gympie. Turn Right at the Tin Can Bay Rainbow Beach turn off. Follow the signs to Rainbow Beach. When you come into Rainbow Beach take the first turn left at the IGA shops, Carlo Rd and drive 2.5 ks to Carlo Point where you will see our Blue Departure Facilty and Marina.
Q. What area can we take the Houseboats? A. You can cruise over 360sqm of unspoilt waterways in the Great Sandy Strait inside Fraser Island Queensland Australia. This is a sheltered area with esturies and creeks. This is a nature exploring holiday, where you will see dolphins, dugong, Fraser Island Dingo, turtles, sea birds. It is renoun for one of Queensland best fishing and crabbing
